Services - A software development subscription for month-plus builds
Serious product builds on a flat monthly subscription. One senior, founder-led engineer takes a month-plus build — a SaaS MVP, a platform, a migration — and ships it as production-ready code, one priority at a time. Choose from plans tailored to the build. Pause anytime.
Multiple plans available
Match the plan to the workload
Every plan keeps the same core model: one senior engineer and one clear priority at a time. Time and cost vary by plan and scope, and we’ll cover both before you start.
Who it's for
- You have a month-plus build ahead — a SaaS MVP, a platform, a migration — and want one senior engineer owning it week by week.
- You want to hand off a real roadmap, not a queue of tickets, and see production-ready code merged in your repo as it ships.
- You'd rather pay a flat monthly rate you can pause than carry a full-time salary through the quiet stretches between builds.
- You value senior, founder-led judgment on architecture and trade-offs over a cheap seat that needs constant direction.
Who it's not for
- You need several engineers in parallel to hit a hard deadline — that's a team or an agency, and we'll say so.
- Your work is a steady stream of tiny fixes with no larger build behind it — smaller tasks are welcome, but they're not the headline here.
- You need someone on a 24/7 pager for production incidents — we're code-only and async, not on-call ops.
- You want us to own product decisions for you — you set the priorities, we build them.
How the subscription works for a serious build
A month-plus build isn't one big drop — it's a prioritized sequence of tasks pointed at one outcome, shipped and reviewed as it comes together.
Scope the build, not just the ticket
We start from the outcome you're after and break the build into a priority order you control. You always know what the active task is and what's next on the board.
One priority at a time, shipped as PRs
One senior engineer works the top of your board and ships production-ready code as pull requests in your repo. You review and merge — nothing lands without your eyes on it, and revisions are unlimited.
Week-by-week progress on a month-plus build
A real build spans several monthly cycles. You see it come together in reviewable increments — auth, then data, then the surface — instead of one big drop at the end.
Reprioritize or pause as the build moves
A hot task jumps the queue the moment priorities change. When a build wraps or things go quiet, pause the subscription and stop the clock. Pick it back up when the next phase is ready.

How it compares
Honest contrasts with the other ways to get a build done. Follow any of them for the full breakdown.
vs Toptal
A vetted marketplace of hourly contractors. We're one senior engineer on a flat monthly rate, no hourly clock and no rebilling to find a fit.
Read the comparison →vs Upwork
A freelance bidding pool where quality is yours to vet. We're a single known senior engineer who owns the build end to end.
Read the comparison →vs an agency
Agencies staff a team and price the project up front. We're one engineer on a flat monthly you can pause, best when one senior owner is enough.
Read the comparison →vs in-house
A full-time hire is a salary, benefits, and a hiring cycle. A subscription is senior capacity the month you need it, and paused the month you don't.
Read the comparison →vs DesignJoy
The subscription model applied to code instead of design, and aimed at month-plus builds rather than a stream of small deliverables.

- Which plan is right for my build?
- It depends on the scope, capacity, and support your build needs. We’ll walk through the available plans and recommend the right fit before you start. A month-plus build can span several billing cycles, and you can pause or cancel anytime.
- What's the difference between task mode and build mode?
- Same subscription, same one-priority-at-a-time board. A month-plus build is just a sequence of prioritized tasks pointed at one outcome — scope it, and we work it top to bottom over several cycles. Smaller standalone tasks are welcome and slot into the same queue, but the subscription is built and priced for serious builds, not as a same-day patch service.
- How fast do things ship?
- One senior engineer works one priority at a time, with timing agreed from the scope and selected plan before work starts. A full build moves in that same priority order, cycle by cycle. It's steady, reviewable progress from one owner — not a room of contractors racing a deadline. When you need several engineers in parallel, an agency or a team is the honest answer.
- Who owns the code?
- You do, fully. Everything ships as pull requests into your repository, matched to your conventions, and you review and merge. There's no proprietary wrapper and nothing you can't read or take over yourself. When the subscription ends, you keep every line.
- How many meetings does this involve?
- As few as you want. We're async and code-only by default: you set priorities on the board, we ship PRs, you review. A kickoff and the occasional check-in on a bigger build are useful, but you're not buying a standing calendar of status meetings — you're buying merged code.
- When is an agency or an in-house team the better call?
- When you need several engineers working in parallel to hit a hard date, or a standing team that owns ops and on-call, or product ownership taken off your plate. This subscription is one senior, founder-led engineer owning a build at a sustainable, sequential pace. If that's not the shape of your problem, we'll tell you straight and point you at the comparison pages.
